Navaz Batliwala – a very multifaceted, creative, woman – not only as a «digital influencer», online journalist, stylist and fashion editor, she also owns one of the most radiant fashionblogs in the world of today: «Disneyrollergirl». She started her blog while working as a fashion director for CosmoGirl! and used it as an anonymous space to discuss the industry and exchange ideas and opinions about fashion and culture. The blog has now expanded its presence to share content through many other channels including Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, Youtube, Facebook, Pinterest, Google+ and Lyst.

Her incomparable, timeless taste is only one of many talents that Navaz Batliwalla stands for. Her statement is clear, she is aware of the side effects todays fast paced social media bubble has on us: “it’s all about this self-branding moment we’re in, where everyones point of view is seemingly of the utmost importance, but especially with Twitter as more and more people have joined it. Young people especially don’t seem to have any „editing buttons“, they basically just think aloud and it has become very noisy and very saturated with opinion, so my role is just to filter that and share what is succinct and relevant as much as possible because I think people are starting to get tired of a constant deluge of information.” she specified in an interview with FAD magazine.

Her role as a digital influencer is not just about sharing her perspectives on fashion, she‘s admittedly promoting the "Disneyrollergirl" brand with her incomparable eye and unique aesthetics.

Now Navaz Batliwalla has published her first book. "The New Garconne: How to Be a Modern Gentlewoman".

A style guide for the independent and stylish woman of today. It combines a masculine style with the necessary female twist, that celebrates culture, history, beauty, intelligence, feminism, quality and taste. Their focus is definitely quality over quantity, means, high-quality brands and high-quality dresses instead of the so-called fast-fashion products.

The book features 14 women, such as Bella Freud, Lyn Harris and Caroline Issa, who not only wear this style and their independent attitude, but literally embody it. They were all photographed in their own studios and apartments in major cities such as Paris, New York and London.

Navaz shows us what makes a timeless, classic and yet unique piece of clothing and above all, how to give the outfit its own very personal touch. The second part of the book focuses on the essential must haves for the "Modern Gentlewoman" wardrobe. As if that was not more than enough, Navaz indulges us with some georgous tips, where she shares great insiders for brands, shops, markets and coffees with us.

Definitely a one-time read, for those cuddly, warm autumn evenings that we love to spend at home.
